Help & Support
Getting started
Foundry Compliance checks building design parameters against England Part L 2021 (Approved Document L)
and the Future Homes Standard 2025. Welsh projects are checked against Approved Document L (Wales) 2022.
This tool covers England and Wales only — it does not cover Scottish or Northern Irish building regulations.
Upload your design pack PDF or enter parameters manually to receive an instant compliance check.
How to run a compliance check
- Log in to your account at foundrycompliance.co.uk.
- Upload your design pack PDF or enter parameters (U-values, heating system, glazing ratios) directly.
- Review the extracted values — correct any that were misread before proceeding.
- Submit the check and review your compliance report, including any failed clauses and recommendations.
Understanding your results
Each finding includes a reference to the specific Part L or FHS clause it checks against,
the value we found in your submission, and the required value. A result of "Pass" means your
submitted value meets the requirement — it does not constitute a building control approval.
Results must be reviewed by a qualified professional before submission to building control.
Common questions
- What file types can I upload? PDF files only, up to 25 MB.
-
What documents should I upload? Upload design-stage documents — the kind an architect has at RIBA Stage 2–3, before planning submission or early building regs:
- Architectural drawings (floor plans, sections, elevations, roof plans, site plans)
- Site plan / location plan / block plan
- Outline specification / specification notes
- Design and Access Statement
- Building Control application documents (full plans or building notice)
Do not upload SAP calculations, thermal bridging assessments, or Energy Performance Certificates — these are produced after design is complete. If you have them, you are past the stage this product is designed for. Photographs are not accepted; PDF files only.
- What standards are covered? Approved Document L 2021 (England) and Future Homes Standard 2025. Wales jurisdiction checks use Approved Document L (Wales) 2022 and are advisory.
- Can I export my results? Yes — use the Export button on the results page to download a PDF report.
- How do I cancel my subscription? Go to Account → Subscription and select Cancel. Your data remains accessible until the end of your billing period.
- How do I delete my account? Go to Account → Delete Account. This permanently erases all your data and cannot be reversed.
